Conclusion

I really liked to comment in my partner's blogs. I found this an interesting and useful activity because we were able to see different points of view, different opinions and their supporting ideas. But what I liked the most is that even in a little comment of 5 sentences, I could see the personality of the people I know. Sometimes, we don't have the opportunity to discuss themes like the ones we commented. So I found a great opportunity to know better my classmates. What they think, why and one of the most complicated things to express: what they feel.

Twelfth Night act 1.

This is one of the most famous plays written by Shakespeare. The story begins with complications and a confusing rising action. It begins when Viola turns to be a man in order to serve Orsino. And all this, is because she loved her brother. I liked how Shakespeare showed the different types of love that we have in our lives. Viola loved her brother, as well as Olivia loved his now death brother. I think here Shakespeare makes a parallelism between their feelings. This is because both women loved a man who was interested in someone else. (Even when Olivia was in love with a man that actually didn’t existed.)Here we can see that love can be showed to everyone, just in a different way. I’ve already seen the movie and I really liked it. But as usually, I think that the book will be many times better. I hope so.

Shakespeare

Shakespeare is maybe the most important writer in all the times. His plays are exceptional. When we read them, we get to understand why he is so famous. He is considered like a hero speaking about literature. But just like you or me, he still was a person, with feelings and problems as all of us. His life wasn’t that easy. During his times, he wasn’t considered as good as he is now. He was just a play writer, an actor nobody cared about him. But it was until much time after his death that he was really considered as a good or great writer. His plays are funny, interesting and they always convey the feelings correctly. But one of the most important successes was that he added many new words, not only in the literature world, but also to the daily vocabulary. Shakespeare was genius when using the words, feelings and plots correctly. There might be many famous writers, but we’ll hardly find one like Shakespeare.

No witchcraft for sale

I had a very hard time understanding this story. Actually I think I didn´t understand it. It begins saying that the little sweet boy was used to see black servants people in his house. In theory, he didn’t have the example of the racist people. But as the time goes by, he gets to be racist and treats bad Gideon, his cook. One day, Teddy, the little master gets hurt. And in that point, the story changes completely. There, the story changes completely. Neither more Teddy nor the resolution of any problem is next. The introduction drives to any point to understand the story. Then, Gideon uses a strange plant to cure the little child. The parents are fascinated and they have a hard time trying to convince Gideon to show the world the marvelous plant. Gideon never gives them the true plant. I just couldn’t understand the plot line that the author followed to write the story. Maybe he wrote like that on purpose.

Interlopers

In this story what caught my attention was the fact that two familys were enemys for cenuries, but in few hours of talking and sharing a dangerous situation, problems were solved. I could also see that if you showed some respect to your enemy, the enemy was morally forced to show the same respect to you. This could be a useful formula to avoid conflicts or to solve problems. Because we all know that respect is the key for every relationship. I liked the story, but the ending was such a surprise for me. I never expected wolfs to come and throw everything away. I was expecting that the old enemies became good friends, and that the moral would be that every problem can be solved with communication. When I finished reading my reflection was: At the end the land wasn’t useful for anyone. Actually is only caused both deaths.

Phenomenal Woman

I liked thins poem because of the sincerity that the author has. I have no doubt that Maya Angelou has a very high self esteem. I admire that, because in our times there is still a lot of racism. I think Maya Angelou as many other people fought against the opinion of racist people. Now we can see that not only she accepts being a black woman, but she is very proud about it. Many people should follow this example. Because when it has to do with physical things, we can't do much about it. Instead, we can be better in the inside, which is much more important. I also liked the poem because I noticed very quickly the rhythm which makes the poem much more pleasant to hear

Taxi

One of the things that human beings are more afraid of: is when the things change. When people must go to the university and they won't see his/her family, friends any more. But also when a couple is separated by the distance everything seems so wrong. Those were the feelings that the poem transmitted me. I was able to see the streets of a busy city passing by. I could feel the sense of not knowing where to go, or what to do, the sense of not wanting anything to change. Unfortunately all good things come to an end. Everything is are always changing and ending. People in our lives are always rotating. We must get used to it. Otherwise we are going to be hurt many times. I enjoyed reading the poem, mainly because I felt everything that the author describes.

Those winter sundays.

Many times people who love us make everything needed to provide us comfort. But do we always thank those people what they do for us? No, I think most of the time we are busy with other things. We don't realize how that people love us. And the regret will come until they are death? That was my reflexion after reading that poem. It makes us think of our lives and the simple things people do for us. I liked the poem because of the point of view that the child has, appearing to be very selfish. But at the end he changes his mind and thanks (after too much time) what his father did for him and the love he had.

Exile

I liked this poem because it made me understand what narrative poetry is. Also I liked it because it tells a story and because I was able to find the theme an main ideas easily. I think the story is really strong and I'm sure that many immigrants feel the same way. Because their main landuade expresses things that with others they can't. In this case, Spanish is a very special language not on ly because is it hte one that makes people different in a country, but also because of the memories that it brings.I also liked the message ans I was able to understand what people feel whan they arrive to another country. They watch every thing so different, but knowing that they'll have to adapt to the traditions of that place.
